Dear Continental Youth Championship guests,
Welcome to the Greater Philadelphia area’s 2013 CYCs! We
are delighted to host you in what we hope will be a positive, fun and
challenging tournament for players, coaches and clubs.
Our tournament will kick off on Wednesday, July 24th at 3:30 p.m. with the Business of
Sport Networking Forum featuring GAA President Liam O’Neill. Dress is business casual.
WEDNESDAY- Player Registration and Parade
Buses will begin to pick up families at hotels at 3:30 p.m. and bring them to downtown West Chester. Player registration starts at 4 p.m. in the Chestnut Street parking lot (14 East Chestnut Street, West Chester, PA). Please have all players and coaches join your club for parade line up by 6:30 p.m. for the start of the parade at the parking garage. The parade ends at Wells Fargo Parking lot on Gay Street where there will be announcements and live Irish music. There are lots of great restaurants around town to enjoy. Buses will run back to the hotels from 8:30 – 10 p.m.
BUSES, PARKING, ADMISSION and SCHEDULE
On Thursday – Sunday, buses start running from all hotels at 6:30 a.m. and will run until 7 p.m. (or
one hour after final game.) A bus schedule will be at all hotels as will directions to the field. Parking is free but please be prepared to park off site and have a short walk to the field if you chose to drive to the field. The address is: 414 Paoli Pike, Malvern, PA 19355 (Bryn Mawr Rehab). Each hotel is less than 30 minutes from the field without traffic. Please
allow for extra time on Thursday and Friday during peak traffic hours.
Admission at the gate will be charged on Friday and Saturday only for adults over 18. The cost will be $10. The schedule of
games will be provided in the program books which will be available for sale for
$5. It is also available on the CYC website http://www.cycgaa.org/.
WATER, FOOD, TENTS, CHAIRS, FIELD RULES, MEDIC TENT, LOST AND FOUND
Water stations will be provided for players at each field. Each player should bring his own water bottle to fill which
will be provided to them in their welcome package when they check in to the hotel.. There will be hot and cold food and refreshments available for sale from 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. each day.
There are no bleachers at the field, so please feel free to bring your own chairs, blankets, and tents. There will be a misting tents for the kids to cool off each day at the field. A medic tent will also be provided each day staffed by volunteer nurses. We’ll also have student sports
therapists on hand from Neumann University to help out.
Field Rules: Absolutely no alcohol is allowed on the premises. No dogs are permitted.
SUNDAY MASS AND CEILI
On Sunday, Mass will be held at the field at 8 a.m. The Philadelphia Ceili Society to play from 12- 4 p.m. We encourage all kids can bring their instruments and join in!

PRESENTATIONS, PHOTOGRAPHY and SOCIAL MEDIA
Presentations of awards will be on Saturday and Sunday at the Main Stage 15 minutes following each
final. Presentations will be made by the CYC Steering Committee or Croke Park dignitaries.
We will have a volunteer photographer on hand taking photos of the players on the field. We encourage ALL
parents and friends to take photos and upload them to our FlickR account at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/cycphilly/
This way, we can all share great photos from the weekend.

OPTIONAL Shuttle to/from airport
There is an optional private shuttle service available for $25 per person Round Trip to/from the Philadelphia airport
to all host hotels. (Traditional taxis take 3-4 people and cost about $80 each way from Philadelphia to
hotels.) E-mail Dan Flanagan directly for all reservations: Include your First and Last Name, Number of people in your party,
arriving flight number, date and time, and departing flight number. [email protected].
